Banyan Tree brings Veya brand to Phuket

PHUKET, September 22, 2022: Banyan Tree Group, one of the leading independent hospitality groups, has launched a brand extension with its first wellness-centric resort, Banyan Tree Veya Phuket.

Derived from the root of the word “weave”, Veya is aware that well-being is a lifelong journey and that every path is different. This inspired the resort brand to curate personalized and tailored experiences for guests, built on Banyan Tree’s proprietary Eight Pillars of Wellbeing; Sleep and Rest, Nutritional Awareness, Bonding and Connection, Physical Vitality, Cultivation of the Mind, Learning and Development, and Harmony with Nature and Sustainable Practices.

“With our hyper-stimulated modern life, our nervous system can’t really relax and therefore rest; Chronic stress undermines our natural immunity and ability to recover. Our #OwnYourPresence ethos guides our mission to inspire people to journey within and become aware of how their daily actions, thoughts and emotions interact with their physical being,” said Ho Ren Yung, Senior Vice President, Brand and Commercial of the Banyan Tree Group.

Mindfulness practices at Veya include classes like Ocean Breath and Conscious Grounding, which aim to increase sensory awareness through breathwork, sound therapy, and guided imagery meditation techniques in natural settings. Somatic movement consists of intuitive forms of dance, yoga and classes such as balance and stability that focus on experiencing movement internally to release chronic patterns of tension and calm the nervous system. During zero gravity, a new set of signature therapies, exclusive to Veya, combines rehabilitative levitation with body stretching massage techniques and meditative sound therapy for a restorative sensory experience. Lifestyle Learning is a series of workshops introducing wellbeing rituals into daily life, including creative therapies, integrative nutrition and courses such as Positive Resilience, to help guests bring the retreat experience home.
