SENTUL, Indonesia, 19th September, 2022 (WAM) — Rabdan Academy and the Republic of Indonesia Defense University (RIDU) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Sentul, Indonesia to strengthen cooperation between the two sides in scientific, to begin academia and professional fields in security, protection, defense, emergency preparedness and crisis management.
Under the MOU, the two parties will share high-level information, expertise and experience, set up joint research and development (R&D) projects, and develop academic and professional programs related to defense and security, along with enhancing multidisciplinary capacity building as part of an effective partnership between the two parties.
This initiative contributes to the implementation of joint student exchange programs that allow students from both sides to engage in a new educational environment with diverse faculty and peers, ultimately promoting the exchange of knowledge and experience and the refinement of skills within an exceptional experience, the academic , cultural, social and professional aspects.

Vice Admiral Prof. Dr. Amarulla Octavian, Rector of RIDU, said: “The academic cooperation between RIDU and Rabdan Academy is expected to have a positive impact on the quality of teaching and research through exchange programs that enrich the international experience of students and teachers. and through jointly developed study programs that facilitate the transfer of knowledge and skills needed for capacity building in both institutions.
Rabdan Academy and RIDU are both higher education institutions offering specialized academic programs in security, defence, emergency preparedness and crisis management and both offer professional development programs aligned with best international standards and practices. This shared context will help create common development plans and create a solid base for flexible collaboration to move quickly into the future.
The two sides will provide technical and consulting services to improve their cadres and align their practices with international bodies, in addition to providing a platform for positive interaction and organizing joint workshops, seminars and conferences to support and develop the education and training process under one deep strategic vision and effective participation.
RIDU is a higher education institution under the Department of Defense that provides training at professional, undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels with a focus on defense and security issues. RIDU provides strategic insights to support the development of Indonesia’s military and defense from an academic perspective.
