Fitness influencer performs CPR on two-year-old son after drowning two days before Christmas

Fitness influencer Chontel Duncan’s son, two, nearly drowned in his backyard pool – when she rushed to perform CPR

A Brisbane fitness influencer has been shaken after her two-year-old son nearly drowned in a backyard swimming pool just before Christmas.

Mother-of-five Chontel Duncan took to Instagram on Monday to ask her 1 million followers to check their pool gates and stay up-to-date on first aid and CPR training.

The 32-year-old said that on December 23, his son Paris managed to get into the pool after the gate failed to close, and was submerged in the water for 1 minute and 20 seconds while trying to swim.

‘I found someone at the bottom of the pool and jumped in. Someone watched through us and by a miracle, he survived and was ok,’ Chontel explained.

Chontel then revealed that this was not the first time she had to save one of her sons.

Back in February he was forced to perform CPR on his daughter Havana, who was born prematurely a month earlier.

But he did not elaborate on the circumstances surrounding the incident.

‘I did CPR in Havana on 18 Feb 2022 & then this. Pain can’t be cured, and fear can ease it, but if there’s one thing 2022 has taught me [my husband] Sam and I, it’s to live in the present, not to live & appreciate life,” he wrote.

‘Christmas is different this year; We Bang about family time during this season, but take this as a big reminder to TRULY appreciate life and people and now.’

Chontel accompanied the post with photos of her family spending Christmas vacation together.

This comes after Chontel welcomed twins Havana and Justice on January 5 at 31 weeks, after facing the ‘horrible fear’ of ‘threatened miscarriage’ during her pregnancy.

Chontel and her boyfriend Sam are now the proud parents of five little ones all under the age of seven.
