Kuldeep Singh, MD, FACS, MBA, FASMBS, a top weight loss surgeon and director of the Maryland Bariatric Center at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, MD, and Kristian Morey, RD, LDN, a clinical nutritionist with nutrition and diabetes education program Mercy, appear together as guests on the hospital’s ongoing talk show series, Medoscopy, which airs Wednesday through Thursday, September 28 and 29 at 5:30 p.m. EST on Facebook Watch (http://www.facebook . com/MercyMedicalCenter).

In this latest issue, Dr. Singh and Ms. Morey on their work with patients dealing with weight issues and weight/obesity related diseases such as diabetes.
In personal notes, Dr. Singh on his days on the cricket and soccer fields and coming to the US from India in 1994. dr Singh left orthopedic surgery to train as a Fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery and Bariatric Surgery with experience in Gastric Bypass Surgery (Roux-en-Y), Laparoscopic Gastric Sleeve Surgery and Revision Bariatric Surgery.
Morey, who grew up in Washington state, graduated from Tulane University with interests in social sciences, psychology and even finance before pursuing her studies in dietetics at the University of Maryland, College Park.
During Medoscopy’s regular “Show and Tell” segment, Dr. Singh philosophical and explains his love of working with the earth and gardening, while Morey unveiled her “biochem folder”, a symbol of her struggles in taking 6 chemistry courses (“one of the bane of my existence!” during her studies.
dr Singh has been named a “Top Doctor” in Bariatric Surgery by Baltimore Magazine for several years and a “Health Care Hero” by T-he Daily Record. dr Singh is a strong advocate for advancing the clinical standard of bariatric surgery and leads patient education seminars to help them determine if weight loss surgery is the best option to achieve their health goals.
A member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Morey completed her nutrition internship at Sodexo at the University of Maryland before joining Mercy. She is now a Board-Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist and leads Mercy’s diabetes education classes and support groups, as well as the Bariatric Center’s support groups.
