Odisha Cabinet Approves 33 Important Proposals


Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cabinet Meeting, held today in the Cabinet Hall chaired by Prime Minister Naveen Patnaik, made 33 key decisions related to the Departments of Water Resources, Legal, Electronics and IT, Sports and Youth Services, Tourism, Industry, Food Supply and Consumers Welfare, Health and Family Care, Collaboration, Revenue and Disaster Management, Excise, Home, Steel and Mining, and Labor.

Secretary-General Suresh Chandra Mahapatra informed the people of the Cabinet decisions and said that the key decisions were approving the financial bids for the construction of 40 lift-off irrigation systems with intake points on different rivers in Keonjhar, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Bargarh, Gajpati, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Angul and Cuttack. Similarly, the cabinet also approved the financial bids for the execution of an underground penstock irrigation network (UGPL) for the left command of the lower Suktel irrigation project with the distribution network.

Mahapatra added that other key decisions included leasing 5 acres of non-premium state land for the establishment of the Central Research Institute of Homeopathy (CIRH), 50 acres of land in favor of Rajendra University for its infrastructure development and 3,125 acres of land for the establishment of the National Centers for Disease Control (NCDC).

The proposal for a 15 percent reservation of places in state physical education colleges for students housed in state athletic homes, along with revised funding for the state-level athletic infrastructure development program also received a cabinet nod.

Limestone long-term linkage policy with the eligible state-based end-use industries, widening of Sonepur – Binika – Rampur – Dungurupali road in Subarnapur district, construction of 195 Type VI and 105 Type VII roosts in MLA colony on turnkey basis, the appointment of Odisha Public Service Commission members, Reorganization of Tourism Service Cadre, Odisha Cooperative Service Cadre, Formulation of Cadre Rule for newly created Odisha Cooperative Examination Service Cadre, Rules for District Police Ministerial Services, Modification of Recruitment Rules for Odisha Civil Service, Amendment of Odisha Judicial Meteorology Service Regulations, Odisha Judicial Service Regulations Amendment, Odisha District and Sub-Courts Non-Judicial Staff Services and Group D Staff Regulations have been e also approved in the cabinet.
