COLUMBIA, MD, Sept. 20, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Owl Cyber Defense Solutions (Owl), the global leader in hardware-enabled cross-domain and data diode cybersecurity solutions, announced that it is one of two companies to become 249th M was awarded competitive, multi-award IDIQ (Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity) contracts from the US Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The contracts offer each of the two award winners an exclusive, fair opportunity to fulfill Cross-Domain Solutions (CDS) for Foreign Military Sales (FMS).
“We are very pleased to have been selected for this award,” said Ken Walker, Owl’s President and Chief Technology Officer. “This achievement is a validation of our long history and ongoing effort in CDS innovation to meet the defense needs of our nation and those of our partner countries. It also demonstrates our industry leadership in CDS development, including our professional services that support clients and even other vendors in areas such as security policy and content filter development.”
“Owl’s consistent leadership in CDS has enabled us to not only provide the advanced solutions needed to support our U.S. Defense and Intelligence customers, but also unique solutions to support our partner nations,” said Dan O’ Donohue, LtGen, USMC (Ret.) and SVP of Defense Programs for Owl. “As one of only two vendors to receive this award, it should be clear that we are focused on building the future of CDS technology and leading the market for years to come.”
According to the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) official website, FMS is “a form of security support authorized by the Arms Export Control Act (AECA) as amended [22 U.S.C. 2751, et. seq.] and a fundamental instrument of US foreign policy.” Under the AECA, the US can sell defense products and services to foreign countries and international organizations if the President formally determines that doing so will enhance US security and promote world peace.
MDA is the implementing agency for FMS CDS and this MAIDIQ award is the first for the FMS CDS program. As part of the award, solicitations will be sent to both awardees until the contract is fulfilled or until the end of the five-year appointment period, which ends on June 2, 2027.
