LUTCHER – St. James Parish Hospital announced the following fall 2022 courses and events. Event information and schedules are subject to change. Visit for the latest information or to register online for classes and events.

Individuals who do not have access to a computer, are planning a group class, or need to attend a healthcare provider CPR class for the first time should call 225-258-2009.

Tuesday, 4 Oct, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Medical Plaza

$75/participant (Heartsaver CPR-Only $60/participant)

The Heartsaver CPR/First Aid course is a course that teaches lay rescuers how to recognize and treat life-threatening emergencies, including cardiac arrest and choking, in adults, children and infants. The first aid course teaches basic first aid procedures for medical emergencies and environmental emergencies. This course takes place in the Medical Plaza Community Education Room. Students currently enrolled in the college must bring a valid student ID to qualify for the student rate. Those who need to take this course for the first time should email [email protected] The Healthcare Provider Course is designed to teach CPR skills to victims of all ages. This course is designed for participants who provide healthcare to patients in a variety of settings, including in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings. This course is a recertification for participants who need to renew their CPR certification. Participants must register five business days before the course.
